The local church was founded by Rev. Magaja Jacob Makulubane in 1975 upon his return
from theological training from Evangelical Church Bible School in Rustenburg. Rev.
Makulubane started the church in a classroom in a school called Vulamehlo Primary School.
Within a year the work grew faster and bigger than had been expected, and it needed a
bigger space. In 1976 the church then found a bigger classroom in Ezazi Primary School until
1983. Because of his passion for the Lord, Rev. Makulubane had strong friendship with the
bible school’s lecturer and missionary, Rev. Steward Snoek who helped him build the church
in Mamelodi D1 section after having bought a piece of land there.
Rev. MJ. Makulubane served the church well for 42 years since 1975 until his retirement in
2017, at the age of 82 years.
Today the church is 48 years old, which means in two years’ time she will be celebrating her
Jubilee to commemorate her 50th year of existence and mark the Lord’s faithfulness in
building and sustaining his church through the five decades of existence.
Upon the retirement of veteran, pioneer, and founding father Rev. MJ Makulubane, the
church invited Evangelist, Rev. MHT Buthelezi in 2019 to come in to take the pastoral reigns,
which he surrendered in 2021 when he accepted a call to pastor another local church.
The church then invited Pastor BD. Gumbi to lead her as from 1 January 2023 who is the
current leader to date
A big family of big hearts united in the bond of love that is demonstrated in the sweet fellowship and graceful care of all God’s people across Mamelodi communit
We love and care for all God’s people in and outside church fellowship. We teach the
biblical precepts of God’s love as expressed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We
diligently appropriate the biblical principles of care and fellowship through action.
We are present, visible and found in all sections of the Mamelodi community
specifically, and the Tshwane metropolis in general
